Please keep in mind that if you wanna use the new version, you need to update all of the MusexPress widgets in your Muse project (to the new version) to be sure that everything will work correctly on your site.
Download the Muse Booking plugin from musegain.com. After the download you will find a zip file. Unzip it and you’ll find two folders: adobe muse widgets and plugin. Open the latter.
Login into your wordpress admin panel and click on «Plugins» menu. Then click on «add new». On the top of the page click on «upload plugin», select the zip file from the plugin folder we mentioned before and then click on the «install now» button. Just wait for the installation process and, once finished, click on the «activate» plugin button. A new field will appear on left menu: Muse Booking.
Open “Bookable Services” menu. Here you can add all the services you want: a table in a restaurant, an event, an appointment with consultant, etc.
Click on «add new bookable service” button and insert the title. You’ll find two panels here: general and availability.
General: there are three settings:
Slot Duration in which you can set the duration of your service in minutes.
Displayed Months: it indicates the number of months in advance services can be booked.
Available Resources: maximum number of resources user can book (e.g. tables, seats, etc.)
Availability: here you can manage the days in which your activity is open.
First Shift field allows you to select the business hours and shifts.
Remember that if your activity only provides one shift, you have to set «second shift» sliding bar at 00:00 – 00:00
Another option in this setting page allows to set the duration of the booking system during the year. If it will be always available, you need to check «always enabled» checkbox, otherwise you can easily set the specific period you want the service enabled.
Finally, here you can set the featured image: remember to insert a square image.
Click on “add new booking form” button from the plugin menu and insert the title.
In General panel you can select bookable services we have previously created and decide if they need to be approved (“requires approval” checkbox) and if you want to display the telephone number (“display telephone field” checkbox).
Once created, go to Booking Forms menu and you’ll find some useful information about your forms. Remember to take note of the slug field that will be useful in Muse later.
Here you’ll find two tabs:
Calendar is a sample view of a calendar showing days in which you’ve received a booking. Clicking on a day, a tab with all boooking for that day will be opened.
Settings: in the notifications panel you can set the notification messages your users will see when they book a slot. In the Email panel there are some template tags you can use to customize dinamically the email text. You can send a text email from here to see the result and select the template of the email.
It has a default template, very simple, responsive, that may be easily changed. If you own an email template, you have to upload it in wp-content/plugins/mxp-booking-form/email_templates. Just be sure to insert the following template tag inside it to show email text you set inside the plugin: [MXP_BF_BODY_TEMPLATE].
Our default template includes an image that you can change directly from this page (if want to use it in your custom template, use this tag to get a link to the image [MXP_BF_WEBSITE_LOGO]). You can choose to send a delivery message both in case of success or pending status and if you want to send it to the admin of the site, the customer or both of them. Finally you can indicate the subject of the email and the text of it, using html tags if necessary.
Open the “Bookings” menu. Here you’ll find a list of your bookings that you can filter by bookable services and getting a view about customer and slot booked. Even from here you can select the status of the booking (confirmed or pending).
Go to the widget folder that we’ve already download from MuseGain.com and click on the widget folder. Then double click on the mulib file. You will be redirected to Muse. You can find the widget in your library panel. Drag and drop it into the canvas.
In the widget menu you have to insert the url and the slug that you can find in the plugin and see your booking system in preview mode before going online. Very important is the booking form slug.
Remember to set at least once «calendar» in preview type option in order to see if the calendar is visible. If not, just increase the height of the calendar to see it.
Once your website design is finished, click on the File menu and then “upload to FTP hosting”. We insert our FTP credentials and continue. Now we have to insert the site URL. Pay attention to the “folder on server section”. That’s a very important step to have MusexPress working properly. You need to insert here the same WordPress installation path as completed before (either in root folder or in subfolder) and add /mxp_theme. We’re ready to go to the next steps. In the Upload section select “All files” if you’re uploading MusexPress for the first time. Then you can choose “only modified files”. Click ok. You will see an FTP validation alert. Don’t worry about that. Click on Ignore and wait for the website upload.
Once the upload is completed, go to your WordPress admin panel.
Go to MusexPress menu and click in the pages converter. Select all the pages and click on the convert button.
Keep in mind that you need to convert the pages everytime you edit your Muse project and upload it again.
