Please keep in mind that if you wanna use the new version, you need to update all of the MusexPress widgets in your Muse project (to the new version) to be sure that everything will work correctly on your site.
Click on Download button on Blog LITE product page from MuseGain.com.
You’ll be redirected to official WordPress Directory. Click on Download button and the Blog LITE download will start.
Go to the WordPress admin panel and go to the “plugins” menu. Click on the “add new” button on the top and then upload the plugin. Select the musexpress-blog.zip file from the plugin folder and then click on the “install now” button. Wait for installation, and then activate the plugin.
Go to the Plugin Menu and click on “Download Widgets” link to download all the Adobe Muse Widgets.
To install all the Muse widgets double click on the mulib files in the widget folder. You will find them in the Library Panel in Adobe Muse.
You don’t have any mandatory page names to have the Blog working correctly. You can choose the page name you prefer for your blog.
To start designing the post page layout we need to open it and drag and drop the Single Post Page Elements into the canvas. This widget includes a collection of several single widgets that you can use to customize your Single Post page. You can either use this widget as it is or change the position of each single widget, or delete some of them if you don’t need. So, you can fully control the styling. You can customize every single widget from the related menu and change the text font and the formatting from the Muse built-in menu. To have the “single post” page fully responsive just click on the “add new breakpoint” here and resize all the widgets of this page. Repeat this simple step for each breakpoint to get a perfect displaying on all devices.
In this new version we have created a very important feature. You can add the related posts in this page through our new widget: The Related Posts for the Single Post Page.
Just drag and drop it off canvas and open the menu.
As you can see you can choose the Posts Base ID name and the number of the posts you want to show. You can also show the related posts by tags or categories. After that you only need to start your related posts design choosing from one of our ready to use templates. As you can see you have a totally design freedom. You can move or resize each element of the post, change the colours and the fonts using the native Muse tools. Note that you have to use the Hyperlink Menu to customize the post title link. You can also decide to have a different design for each post in the same page (for example for the second post you can start with another ready to use template, in this case the template 2). Remember to insert the same number of related posts you have inserted in the widget menu. This is very important to keep in mind because if you have different numbers the widget doesn’t work properly. Pay attention to the number after the base ID name. If you have more than 1 post you need to change the number after the Base ID name. In this case we have used 2 posts and we have to change the post number for the second post.
Thanks to this new system you now have a limitless freedom with the breakpoints design. You can now style and position each post separately and create a stylish masonry layout. Also, you don’t need to hide the post template each time you add a new breakpoint, unless you want to change the design completely. The good news is that you now have the same elements behaviour as you usually have while working with the Muse breakpoints.
Here we have to use the Blog Page widgets. Drag and drop the Blog Page widget and put it off canvas. Open the widget menu, choose the base ID name and set the number of the posts you wanna show in your page.
We can now design our blog grid starting from our ready to use templates. You can move or resize each element of the post, change the colours and the fonts using the Muse native tools. You can decide whether to have a different design for each post or not. If not, you only have to copy and paste the post as many times as you need for your project. Remember to insert the same number of post templates you have indicated in the widget menu. This is very important to remember because the widget doesn’t work properly if you have different numbers.

Once your website design is finished, click on the File menu and then “upload to FTP hosting”. We insert our FTP credentials and continue. Now we have to insert the site URL. Pay attention to the “folder on server section”. That’s a very important step to have MusexPress working properly. You need to insert here the same WordPress installation path as completed before (either in root folder or in subfolder) and add /mxp_theme. We’re ready to go to the next steps. In the Upload section select “All files” if you’re uploading MusexPress for the first time. Then you can choose “only modified files”. Click ok. You will see an FTP validation alert. Don’t worry about that. Click on Ignore and wait for the website upload.
Once uploaded, jump back to your MusexPress admin panel, go to the MusexPress menu and click on “pages converter”.
Select all the pages of your Muse project and click on the convert button. Keep in mind you have to follow this step everytime you upload your Muse Project again.
After conversion, you just have to set Posts List Page and Single Post page, so in this video we set them to Post and Blog and click on “Save”.
We’ve already designed the layout in Muse. So all we have to do is to go back to the Post menu on your admin panel and click on “add new”. We get the post page and can easily add a title for the post and type the text we wanna pull online. We suggest selecting the visual tab to write your post because you get some additional options that may be useful while creating and editing it. From the right sidebar we can easily schedule the post. Just select the future date/time you’d like the post to publish and it will automatically go live at that date. Finally click on publish.
From the “add new” post page we can also add a new categories in our blog. They’re very useful to organize your posts and improve the visitors experience. Let me show you how simple and fast it is to create a new category. On the right sidebar go to “Add new catecory” and it comes up a box to put in the category name. Click on the “add new category” button and the work is done. Here, in the “tags” section we can assign as many tags as we want to each blog post, and make it easier for our visitors to navigate through our blog. And we can easily upload one or more images for our post. Once again, it takes only a few clicks. Go to “featured image” and choose your foavourite one from the media library. You can also upload a new file. You can edit the image from here. If you wanna manage the uploaded files or upload new ones, just go to the media section. To manage the categories, go back to the post menu, then select “category” to get the related page. As seen before, it takes almost no time to create a new category. From the same menu you can also manage the tags. You can allow visitors to leave a comment on your posts. From the “settings” menu go to “discussion”. You can configure the settings as you wish and manage everything from the “comments” section.
You can easily moderate comments and allow users interaction on your blog.
For SEO optimization we suggest removing the Muse SEO and using the WordPress SEO only. To do this, go to the MusexPress menu and click on settings. Then go to the Pages converter tab. Check the Remove Muse SEO box and click on save.
To have a perfect SEO friendly website we also suggest enabling the permalinks. Go to settings menu, then permalinks and select “post name”. Click on Save Button.
